GU63

Meh.  I really really really wanted to be excited about this GU.  But so far, I’ve been hit with a wall of  meh.  Not really about the game though.  I was on all of about 10 minutes.  It’s the entire logging on that has me in a standstill.

Spring time at the Fizzletoes is very busy.  Add in that we just moved, and I’m trying to get more exercise, and I don’t have time to eat dinner much less play EQ2.   I’ll have another post about some exercising and dinner strategies that have been working for me.

I did manage to get into the game last night.  Logged on and got an achievement – and I didn’t even really look at it, so no clue what it was – maybe it was for AA, as I went from 271 to 306 – yeah, I know partaking in some of the double xp on Easter Weekend would have gotten me a few more AA and I would have been at 320 – but I’m busy these days!  The AA bump is nice – now I have some 35 AA I need to spend.

I headed off to Withered Lands – it was easy enough to get there because I had read up at EQ2Wire how to get there.  And then I started doing a quest here and there.  Didn’t finish any of them except the first one that is basically just go there, talk to the guy.  I got a whopping .8% xp for a discovery and the quest turn in.  I think xp is going to be pretty slow.  Which means I may be lvl 90 for the next 6 months :)  I did see several players that were already 92.  No one in my guild – everyone was still 90, but we are a working man’s guild – most of our members don’t get on until the evening – so I don’t think they had much opportunity to level up.

So, here are some handy links I’ve found about the update – I’m hoping to be able to play some more soon.  But kickball is taking up a good amount of my time these days.  I usually go straight to the fields at 6pm every day, get home around 8pm, and then walk 2-3 miles until 9pm every day.  Just doesn’t leave much time to do anything.

I wish I had more time to check it out, I really do.  I also canceled my recurring sub.  However, I have enough station cash to cover the sub when I decide I have enough time to play.  Or I can just charge the card again.  I know I’ll be back by June.  Things should settle down – unless of course I decide to coach the All Star team – that will keep me busy through July!

I am Jello!

I’ve been trying to exercise more – which also limits my play time even further.  I’ll get back to playing someday… I do plan to check out GU63 next week.

But we have a one mile walking loop in a park very close to our house.  I’ve now walked it three times.  I’m planning on doing it about 5 times a week.  Working up to three miles a day.

I did two miles on Monday – wasn’t bad.  I said at the outset I was only doing 1 mile on Tuesday, especially since I had also done an hour of kickball practice – “Coach Tami, you are sweating!”.  But the rest of the group went for the second mile, so I did too.  And I was Jello when I got home.  Completely and totally worn out – couldn’t even walk.  Just collapsed on the sofa.  Watched a little bit of TV.

Hopefully I can continue walking – maybe making some healthy meals and losing about 20 lbs in the process.

Wasting away…

I wish I was wasting away in Margaritaville instead of wasting all my double xp.  I didn’t get a thing done.  Well, unless unpacking counts.

We did a good bit of unpacking this weekend – and spending Easter day with some friends (which was also spent cooking).

I did manage to log in a bit on Friday night and a bit on Saturday.  I finished up all the Bristlebane Day quests on Caely.  Still need to do them on Snow – though sometimes I wonder why bother on Snow.

I don’t think I like playing Snow.  I know I should.  Everyone loves playing a coercer, or so I hear…  But for me, it’s just meh.  Could be because she’s only lvl 20 – and she’s just weak and pathetic.   But she looks awesome and lives in the snow!  Maybe tonight I’ll have time to do the Bristlebane stuff on her.

But as for double xp – didn’t do much at all.  I think I got one point for doing the Bristlebane quests – ooh ahh.  At one point on Saturday I was playing along pretty good and crashed and couldn’t log back in.  I figured that was a sign to get back to unpacking.

And…. We’re back!

Sorry for the extended absence.  Lots of changes going on in my world the last couple of weeks.  We moved.  Still same general area, but it was a fairly huge ordeal for me.  I’ve moved a lot in my life (23 times in 24 years)  and this was by far the most traumatic move.

We were without internet for a few days as well – but we now have Verizon FiOS.  FiOS is pretty darn cool.  My internet speeds are about 31 Mps down and 26 up.   The installer took one look at our set up (two desks with two desktop PC’s – the PC’s are i7-2600K, 8MB ram, GeForce 570 graphic cards – fairly nice) and said “You are gonna want these hard wired aren’t you?”  We had a great installer – he had his priorities in order – he got the internet hooked up first, then the TV.

Though I’m pretty excited about the TV too.  We went ahead and got HBO – so we can get the HBO Go on our Roku box.

I finally was able to log in to EQ2 last night.  Was very nice to hear my guildmates talking in guild chat.  Hopefully soon I’ll be able to join them regularly on instance runs.    Did a bit of the Bristlebane quests on Caely.  Doing Ratical right now – I hate that quest – mostly because you zone, kill 10 rats, zone, turn in, zone, kill 10 rats, zone…  At least being a wizard I can get to Commonlands quickly to get to the rats there.

Double XP weekend is this weekend… Maybe I can get a big AA boost.  Caely currently has 271 – I believe she needs 284 to get to 320 when GU63 goes live.   Yeah, I’m not sure that will happen :)  But I have no plans (other than unpacking) for this weekend, so maybe I can get something accomplished in game!

Oh – of course, I played the lottery – not the mega millions (no, I didn’t buy a single ticket!) – booby prizes all around.  I think they increased the number of “20 commons” you get – I seem to get them every time.

So, it’s good to be back – hopefully I’ll get back to regular updates now.
