The Mortal Champion: Fleabeaux!

I have been so slacking at updating the blog.  Partly because I used to update it at work, and now I actually have to work at work  - and weekends are getting busier.

But Flea finished the long ass signature quest and got the cloak! So that makes her happy.  She’s also parsing pretty dang good these days.  Well, when I’m not trying to eat dinner that is.

In other news – I took Caely the “wizlock” out for a spin tonight.  She sucks now.  To think, at one time she was the one that did all the dps.  Now it’s Flea.  When I was on Caely tonight, it was like casting through molasses – it was just so slooow.  I’ve also taken Caelila the “dirgedour” out the other night.  She also sucks.  She’s going back on the shelf.

And now, to add to my misery that is the long ass signature quest – I am doing it on Caelien – the inquisitor (and she’s always been an inquisitor).  She also sucks.  But I was hoping to get her some better gear.  But I’m too scared to actually heal in a group.  It’s one thing to pretend you can be a scout – but  you can’t pretend to be a healer.  People die.

So that has all made me appreciate Flea all the more.  I really feel comfortable playing her.  And I honestly think, if all other things were equal, I would do more dps on Flea than another toon.  I know conjurors are not supposed to be the best dps – but I think skill has a lot to do with it, and apparently I’m just better at playing a conjuror.  I’ve decided to give raiding a shot with Flea – see how it goes.  Found an alliance group where you don’t have to leave your guild.  They raid mostly on weekends, which is perfect for me.  Except this weekend.  Going to see Hannah at a winter guard competition.

But on weeknights, it will be guild groups.  I very much enjoy going out with the guild.  One thing we have noticed is that SOE has run out of Spirits and Essences.  We are drowning in Obols.  In fact, sometimes the chests would drop two obols.  We’ve done two  nights worth, with 6 zones – and no spirits at all.

Dungeon Maker Take 2

Wednesday night, as we were doing faction grinding in SkyShrine (who thought that up??? ugh!) a guild member mentioned he was mad at me.  Mad at me? Sweet little, disease spreading, adorable, purple, gnome me? (yeah, that’s probably a misuse of commas)  Seems I had given him the idea of going into Dungeon Maker to get charms.  The guild members have been doing that this week.  It’s not a lot of fun.  But the charms are pretty nice.

Token of Embattled Reflection – INT/WIS

Token of Empowered Reflection – INT/WIS

Token of Encompassed Reflection – AGI/STR

Token of Esteemed Reflection - AGI/STR

Compare the Empowered with what Caely is currently wearing (Let’s hope that link works!)

I tried yet again to do the Dungeon Maker with mixed success.  I did one that was called (and I kid you not) Easy Solo/177 DM – only it gave me 24. It was easy though.  I went in as an avatar – a fighter with some AoE’s.  I had a little downtime between fights, but not much.  I do think that one would have been faster on the warlock.  I tried another one with a ridiculous name – something about 1 room easy tokens.  It was one room.  With about 30 mobs.  But the whole room would agro and I would die quickly – this was with a variety of avatars – never was successful.  I abandoned that hopeless cause.  It’s a good thing you don’t rack up xp debt in those dungeons.

So, the guild decided the best thing to do was take a well geared SK in there – and do it as a group.  We haven’t tried it yet.  I guess that will be take 3.

In other Caely news (she’s really the only one I’ve been playing lately – I’m so digging the ‘lock!) – the guild indulged me yet again last night and took me to an old DoV zone to pick up a few shards.  I’m trying to get her all adored – err adorned (she’s already adored by many!)  And I was able to pick up a few yellow and red adornments.  Now I need some white adorns.  Which are just made – but it’s a long freaking list! Here – enjoy the link - that’s Check’s – err Dethdlr to the rest of the world – Adornment Calculator.  There is no freaking way anyone can choose adornments without it.  Don’t even try.  It’s fabulous (yeah, I know Check reads this – I’m sucking up – but it is amazing)  That list is for the materials I have on hand.  I might try for a few more mana – maybe run through Chelsith and see if I can get some masters.  Hmmm, come to think of it, I haven’t seen many masters drop lately.  Anywhere.

And it’s one week until Guild Wars 2.  A little nervous.  I bought it the other day – so I can do the headstart.  I am very wary of it though.  Hubby is beyond excited.  I really don’t think I’m capable of playing it.  I don’t think my brain works that way.

Won’t get a lot of play time in this weekend – our oldest goes off to college on Sunday – so that is about 10-12 hours taking her there, getting her settled and driving back.  And we have about 5 more episodes of Grey’s Anatomy to watch before she goes.

Oh Deers…

I swear, she knows better….  But enjoy this video from Hannah – my oldest.  It was great getting to see her in San Antonio last weekend.

Little does she know we are not paying for the peeps.

We have family coming into town this weekend, and board meetings and I don’t think we are going to be able to have practice.  March is turning out to be very wet.

Just played the Lottery last night on the Febs…  Watched some tv and hung out with Micaela and Jacy.

The Extra Long Weekend

It was a weekend that had at least two weekends worth of stuff crammed into it.  In fact, I am taking two days off work to recuperate from this weekend.

First we had kickball!  We had a coach/umpire clinic.  Luckily I wasn’t in charge of it – I just had to show up.  We had a great turn out and I was proud of my league’s volunteers.  We then had divisional parent meetings.  I think I’m a terrible “public speaker” but Donald thinks I do an ok job at it.  I think I got a little soap boxy at one point going on and on about how youth sports are so great for girls…

After a full day of kickball – we then drove 5 hours to San Antonio to see Hannah perform for 5 minutes.  We also managed to spend about an hour with her afterwards, which was really  nice.  She seems to be doing good in school.

Here is their show – Hannah actually got to touch – and throw a rifle!

After we drove around for what seemed like hours trying to find where Hannah needed to go and then where our hotel was, we finally were in bed around 2am.    One of my longest days ever.

We “slept in” (7am for me!) and headed home – stopping in Austin for a district kickball meeting.  Was great putting faces with names, since I normally don’t get to see those people.

So it was a very long weekend, and I’m looking forward to my two days off – in fact Monday, I hope to do nothing at all – saving errands for Tuesday.

And as  you can imagine – no time at all for EQ2… maybe Monday!

The Intertubes have failed me!

So last night was my one night this week with nothing going on.  I was planning to play EQ2.  But several times during the night, we ran out of the internets.  This started happening as soon as I got home – which I got home late because I went to get my tires rotated and balanced – and instead spent over $200 on new tires – apparently I need an alignment.  Ugh.

But the interwebs was all wonky.  Cutting out several times.  And Micaela was playing the YouTubes and it would cut out last and start back up first.  We knew we had internet back when her YouTube video would start up.  Apparently the interwebs is made up of tubes… the YouTubes…   It was rather humorous.

But I logged into the game, early enough to get in on the guild group.  We went to Pools to get an update for a guild member.  But I kept having this horrible lag.  It would kick me out of voice and people would just stand there – and then all of a sudden the mob was dead and everyone was in a different part of the zone.  It was pretty bizarre.  And then it kicked me out completely.  Could not log back in.  I decided it was a good time to go to bed.  Only I didn’t.  Luckily I had already played the lottery – booby prizes all around – real booby too – I think I got eel and tea leaves.  Not even something good like bamboo shoots!  Which reminds me I need to be more on top of changing the laundry in the guild hall – we are running out of bamboo shoots because I make so much fancy food.

I thought I would catch up on American Idol – the fine tv program that is.  I saw the guys sing, and fast forwarded through the vast majority of them.  And then I did some computer work for the sports league – including fielding a call at 11pm.  Luckily I was still up.  Wait – I’m not sure luck was involved.  Maybe bad luck.  I could not turn my brain off.  Which has been happening a lot lately.  The brain keeps going long after the body wears out.

Which brings me to my next point – I’m trying to get organized.  I’ve got a Toodledo account now to keep track of all the things that are stuck in my brain.  Well, not all of them I guess – maybe just the stuff I need to do.  But that brings up the whole stuff stuck in my brain and no where else – like how to pay the electric bill.  If I drop dead tomorrow, in a month the electricity, water and phones will all be shut off as no one in my family has an inkling on how to pay them.  And things like Social Security numbers, and who our health insurance is through and I’m sure there are other things.  So, I’m looking into the whole “Getting Things Done” thing. But the sad thing is, I may never get around to looking into the “Getting Things Done” thing…

This weekend is crammed pack with stuff – board meeting and practice tonight, practice tomorrow night, Coach Clinic and parent meetings on Saturday – then heading down to San Antonio to see Hannah perform, and then a District board meeting in Austin on Sunday.  I’m pretty sure my body is going to give out pretty quick, and my brain will be left on for hours this weekend.  I don’t see EQ2 being a part of my activities this weekend.

Not So Super Sunday

First, let’s back up to Saturday.

My talented daughters had contests on Saturday.  Micaela, had her alto sax UIL Solo contest.  It was in a town about a half hour away.  She’s a new driver, but I thought with written directions and GPS on her phone, she would be fine driving there.  Plus, the rest of the family needed to head out to Austin for a winter guard competition for Hannah.  Shortly before Micaela was to arrive at her destination, we got a phone call – she was lost in Dallas. Luckily she stopped some place I could find on the map (The prom store we went to once).  She was very far away.  She didn’t get on the right highway, and stayed on the wrong one for about 20 miles.  In Dallas, that’s pretty huge.  I stayed on the phone with her as I got her going in the right direction.  And then she called us when she got to the contest.  She also made a “1″ – which is the highest you can make.  It’s not really a contest against others, it’s a contest with yourself.  So we were all very happy that she was safe, and did well on her solo.

The rest of us headed down to Austin – about a 3.5 hour drive.  Our oldest has been doing color/winter guard since she was a freshman in high school. We have always enjoyed seeing her perform.  Now that she’s at SFA, we don’t get to see her near enough.  Most of their winter guard contests are in the Houston area, but this one was in Austin, close enough for us to drive down and back in a day.  It was great seeing Hannah.  And her and her friends sat with us up in the stands after they performed.  And they did silly college student things.  It was just a lot of fun.  Afterwards we took her and her friends to IHOP (remind me, only get breakfast food at IHOP from now on), and then we headed back home around midnight.  We got home well after 3am.  And try as I might to snooze in the car, it didn’t happen.

I get up around 6am every day.  Weekdays, weekends, doesn’t matter.  And apparently if I go to bed at 3am, I still get up at 6am.  So I felt off-kilter all day Sunday.  I logged in to play EQ2, but didn’t do a whole lot.  I worked on Snowilla a bit – added her picture to the site.  I locked her at lvl 10 to catch up with the quests.  She got a couple of levels doing the Kelethin festival, so when she got back to questing in Gorowyn, the mobs were grey.  So locked her at 10 until the quests became lvl 10.  She got a little bit of AA out of it, but I don’t think the quests give AA until lvl 10 – so she only got converted xp as AA.

Next, I started work on Caely.  She needs a lot of work.  She needs to revamp her AA’s, she needs some new gear (neck and cloak are priority), she needs MORE AA (though she gets about 1 AA every day or two, but she’s pretty far behind), and she needs a bunch of adornments.  But being out of sorts, I didn’t get much done.  Caely headed to “The City of Freeport” - I’ve noticed that they don’t just call it “Freeport” anymore, it’s “The City of Freeport”.  And she did all the Mage line quests there, and continued on with the core story.  I may never want to enter “The City of Freeport” again.  I think these would have been much more tolerable had I done them at each level.  As it sits, Caely is about half way done with the lvl 40 series.  And she’s done all the racial and archetype quests.   She has about 15 more quests to go – and that’s if she doesn’t do the optional quests.   Most of these quests give house items – Caely has enough to fill her house now!   But I didn’t get very much done last night in game.  No guild groups that I knew of – I think there was some sort of game going on last night…  Puppy Bowl?  My eyes started to glass over…  And finally I called it a night in game and started watching tv.

Waited for a super late pizza from Pizza Hut (who I am boycotting, but apparently the husband isn’t), and watched Glee, followed by New Girl, Raising Hope and Big Bang Theory.  I love my DVR.  I have no clue what time or day a show is on, it’s just there when I want to watch it.

Purple Giraffes

Hannah absolutely adores giraffes.  She is also loving college at SFA.  Combine the two and you get purple giraffes.  Although, there are no purple giraffes in this video.  But here is Hannah’s latest installment of her blog.  I’m quiet impressed that the girls have kept it up this long.  And they are actually dancing now!
