The Real Life of Friday Nights!

A little diversion from my usual blather about EQ2.  This is what I do on most Friday nights in the fall:  Watch high school football.

All three of my daughters are or have been in the band.  As was I in high school.  And my parents set a good example – they were always there whenever I performed.    So we are there every chance we get.  We haven’t missed a high school game yet – though we had to listen to one game on the radio – and looks like we’ll be doing that next weekend (more EQ2 for me!).  I love everything about “Friday Night Lights” – and I may be pretty sad when my girls are all graduated and I don’t have a real excuse to go to the games.

Our football team has entered the playoffs, and the band does a special halftime show just for playoffs – everyone really loves it.  I was able to get a little video with my cell phone the other night – it’s not great quality (because it is a cell phone), but you can get an idea of the fun the band kids have.  They design the show themselves, and they include all the fun dance moves – soldier boy, skanky leg, and now gangnam style.  Tip: Turn your speakers down.
